Jesus Knows Suffering

Isn’t it great to have a God Who came to dwell among us (John 1) as Immanuel, God with us?!?!?!?!  How awesome to know that Jesus is an intimate God desiring a relationship with us, sinful mankind and that He sympathizes with our weaknesses!

Our church’s theme for the year is “Finding Grace” and it is based upon Hebrews 4:14-16:

Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

The attraction of Christianity is not the do’s and don’t’s but the relationship we can have with a truth-filled and grace-filled God who forgives us of our sins through His Son. Let me urge you today to draw near to His throne of grace through prayer and commit to a local church to receive mercy and find grace through the body of Christ in your time of need. That’s one reason why the local church exists!
